A living canopy is often understood as a record of time—growth shaped by weather, seasons, and the steady pull of renewal. In this piece, the tree becomes a single flowing gesture, with a winding river line suggesting life’s course as something continuous, resilient, and quietly purposeful.
In metal, the form is translated through interlaced contours that keep the silhouette airy while preserving structural clarity. Leaf cutouts create a patterned rhythm across the crown, and the ribbon-like trunk and river pathways are shaped to cast layered shadows that amplify the floating offset effect without visual clutter.
Curator’s Note: Tree-of-life imagery appears across many cultural traditions as a symbol of continuity, connection, and regeneration, frequently depicted with branching forms to represent life’s unfolding networks.
