Coastal life is often remembered in flashes—sun on the surface, quick turns beneath the dock, and the quiet certainty of the tide returning. This geometric fish becomes a symbol of that rhythm, shaped by motion, clarity, and the calm pull of the shoreline.
In metal, the outer contour is held as a strong uninterrupted silhouette, while the interior is cut into angular shards that create depth through negative space. The fin cutouts are kept clean and evenly spaced to emphasize flow, and the faceted body structure produces a sharper floating shadow effect as light moves across the surface.
Curator’s Note: Fish forms have long appeared in maritime folk art and coastal iconography as a sign of abundance and life sustained by water, often simplified into emblematic silhouettes for clarity and recognition.
