Filigree Skyward Balloon

A hot air balloon rises as a symbol of possibility, carrying “DREAM BIG” as a simple reminder that ambition begins as an idea that chooses altitude. The ornamental curls and airy negative space give the piece a light, storybook energy—equal parts wonder and determination.

The design is translated into powder coated metal through clean, continuous cut lines that preserve the filigree’s lace-like openness while keeping the balloon silhouette clear at a glance. The typography is cut for readability, and the floating standoff mount deepens the curls and contours with a shadow-driven dimensional effect.

Curator’s Note: Hot air balloons became an enduring symbol of exploration and optimism after the first public manned flights in the late 18th century, when ascent itself became a metaphor for invention, courage, and new horizons.
